Painter's Notes
We trust we find you in good spirits.
If I had the spare dosh, I would have sent you a small bottle of bubbley!
Hopefully we will try and see you in 2018.
It’s been ages since we chatted.
Best wishes and a prosperous 2018.
Love Frances and David XXX
ADDITIONAL NOTE
One of my closest friends who I don’t see enough of is Michael Harris of Combe Farm Arabians. Michael is an exception trainer and breeder of Arabian horses and man of quiet insightful depth. He places great care on understanding his horses’ psychology and their equine language and his personal training methods produce Arabian’s who have a quiet nature and temperament.
I first approached Michael in March 2013 with the aim to learn the basics of equine anatomy from one of the UK’s leading Arabian judges. I expected to have a one hour chat; Michael’s generosity resulted in a full day’s adventure being introduced to his Arabians. Walking around his stock he explained his belief that the long term future of the Arabian breed would be by maintaining the quality, sanity, soundness and versatility of the breed. Michael is for me, a teacher par excellence; and has had a huge influence in my equine education.
With Michael’s eye for the lines and proportions of the perfect Arabian I have started to paint Saffron, one of his mares.
