Painter's Notes

One in every 200 people in UK are homeless, according to Shelter

According to Shelter, these figures were an underestimate as they did not include the so-called “hidden homelessness” – the sofa surfers who have nowhere to live and are not included in the official figures.

The worst hit local authority hotspot was Newham in Greater London which recorded a depressing one in 27 residents who are homeless.

But, isn’t it comforting to read the latest government panacea and remedy for all our societal homelessness challenges comes in the shape of their Homelessness Reduction Act.

Crisis over… ?

I don’t think so, what say you?
